Hi, My name is Zulu!

Zulu - Purebred Siberian Cat For Adoption Arlington VA

I am a brown tabby Male Siberian Cat. I am 4 and weigh 10 lbs. I live in Arlington, VA.

Zulu is a young long haired 100 % pure-bred siberian cat, he will turn 4 years old this July 28th 2015.

He needs a new home as his current owner is leaving to England permanently. He’s a very good boy, whos socialized, a little shy initially so may take some time to get to know you, but once he does he’s enamored and falls in love quickly, and you’ll be his best friend.

He loves spending time with his human friend/s, chilling on the sofa, watching what I do, he’s affectionate and sometimes talkative and loves being near by.

He enjoys sitting on top of the world on his cat tree watching his humans go about their business. Since he is still a young boy, he is playful and likes to chase things around and play with furry mice. He would prefer to be the only feline companion, and prefers a quiet household with no sudden noises, kids, dogs or other cats.

Water is definitely not something he enjoys being subjected to, only from a far and sometimes batting or drinking from a faucet stream.

Zulu’s Current Home Environment

Quiet, peaceful no children or other pets around.

Zulu’s Current Family:

I’m a single female, who’s a professional and spends too much time devoted to my work. Although I’ve given Zulu a lovely home, he’s had to move with me quite a few times and sadly I’m his only friend in the world. I’m making a big move out of the country and believe he would be better off with a family of more than 1-person, but no children or other felines.

Zulu’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

I only feed him grain-free, healthy canned food (Wellness CORE, EVO, freeze-dried treats).
He loves ‘da bird’ and ‘da mouse (his favorite) he leaps into the air for those. He loves batting and chasing furry toy mice around. He loves relaxing by the window sill wathcing birds and squirrels. He’s definitely an indoor-only cat (he’s never been an outdoors cat) but a window to the outside world is important for his wellbeing.

Cute Zulu Story:

Zulu is a generally a bit of a comedian once he’s comfy, he’s got funny antics and can be conversational with his humans, talking back and forth. Everybody that meets him loves him.

Why is Zulu Being Rehomed?

I live alone and he spends quite a bit of time alone as I work long hours. Although I think he prefers being the only cat, but he does also require a lot of attention and affection from his human friend. I am relocating abroad in September and would like to find a permanent home for him where there’s more than one human to love him, where he can live out the rest of his years.

Zulu’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A family with no young children preferably, a family of more than 1 person. A quiet home where he can look out onto the outdoors, and not be alarmed by sudden or loud noises or too much new activity. Some space to play, or we can have some private nap time.
A family who’s definitely had cats before, preferably looking to make Zulu top-cat.

Additional Comments:

I would want to see the home and meet the people interested in adopting him first. And I would like to make a few follow up visits to make sure he’s adjusting well and doing well.
