Hi, My name is Grizzly!

I am a Long, Strawberry Blonde Hair Male Great Pyrenees Mix Dog. I am 1 Year and weigh Very Large, approx. 80 Pounds. I live in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Grizzly is a very playful dog, and also one of the smartest I’ve ever owned. With the right person, I have no doubt that he will be able to learn just about anything. He is a very silly dog, being just a puppy, and is very energetic. He is great with kids, running around and playing with them, but never getting too rough with young ones.

Grizzly’s Personality

Grizzly is a very playful dog, and also one of the smartest I’ve ever owned. With the right person, I have no doubt that he will be able to learn just about anything. He is a very silly dog, being just a puppy, and is very energetic. He is great with kids, running around and playing with them, but never getting too rough with young ones.

Grizzly’s Current Home Environment

We have 6 other pets living with Grizzly, 5 dogs and one cat. He gets along great with 4 of the other dogs, and respects the cat’s space, but for some reason, he is very aggressive towards one of our other dogs, which is why we need to rehome him. We also do not have a lot of outside space, which is what Grizzly really needs.

Grizzly’s Current Family:

I have 4 children, ranging from ages 19 to 10. Grizzly interacts with all human members of our family beautifully, and is very affectionate towards my 13 and 10 year old. He sleeps with my 18 year old son, and according to him, Grizzly is a snuggler who loves him very much. He also listens great to my son, only having to be told once to do something such as sit or stay.

Grizzly’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Grizzly is absolutely obsessed with tennis balls. He loves chewing on them, throwing them around, and especially loves playing fetch. He will run to get the ball, bring it back to you, and even drop it at your feet. We give him a leftover rib bone when we have ribs, and that is his favorite food ever. He will sit there for hours just gnawing on the bone, and this is not limited to just rib bones. He loves bones of all types. He loves going on walks, and despite his size, he rarely pulls once he starts getting into the groove of walking.

Cute Grizzly Story:

Grizzly is just a baby, having his first birthday on September 9th, so he still acts like a baby. We bought him a tiny, plush elephant for him to chew on, since he has a habit of chewing through all stuffed animals (stuffed pigs are his favorite). Instead of ripping this one to shreds, he kept his elephant in his cage and gently played with it all the time. He would even sleep with his little elephant cuddled up right next to him, and he loved that thing to death.

Why is Grizzly Being Rehomed?

He is very aggressive with one of our other dogs, and only towards that dog. We have 4 other dogs, and Grizzly is just fine with them, and we pass dogs on the street during our walks all the time, and he seems to not mind them, but as soon as he sees this dog, he charges him. This is why we need to rehome him.

Grizzly’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We are looking for Grizzly to go to a home ideally with no other dogs, because of his past aggression with our dog. Grizzly will need a lot of space to run around, so a big backyard would be wonderful for him. He does great with children, and absolutely adores my two younger children, so having children would definitely be a plus for him.

Additional Comments:

He is a very sweet and loving dog, but all everyone seems to notice is his aggression towards this one dog. Please try and look past that because we’ve had him for basically his whole life, and aside from this one dog, he is absolutely the smartest and kindest dog we’ve owned. Thank you for your time.
