Hi, My name is Mocha!

Mocha-Photo

What a lovely girl I am! My coat is a gorgeous Mocha color, and I have expressive green eyes that let you know how much I adore you. I am just 7, very healthy, spayed and up to date on my shots. I am a medium sized dog, weighing 55 pounds. I am perfectly house trained and well behaved. I live in Conshohocken, PA with my owner, an elderly man.

mocha2We are in quite a pickle. He is having to move and could not find housing that would accept a dog my size. Not only that, his mobility issues make it very difficult to give me the exercise I need and love.

He loves me so much and is hoping to find a family that will cherish me, take great care of me, play with me, give me lots of belly rubs, and love me unconditionally. I am gentle, sweet and loyal. I love to be in the middle of people doing stuff. I love kids and get along well with cats. I am a great watch dog, too.

My perfect new home would be with a single, couple or family with lots of time to spend with me. I would love very much to have a fenced back yard to play in. I like to be active, so if you can walk me regularly, that would be fantastic.

Please offer me a home today. I can’t wait to play tug-o-war in the back yard with some great kids!

Mocha’s Personality

Mocha is affectionate, loyal and gentle. She loves being surrounded by people and activity. She can become a bit hyper or over-excited upon first greeting when she hasn?t seen you for a while, or when she sees another dog (she wants to approach). She has been never been aggressive towards any person or animal although she barks protectively at times. Mocha lived with my two grandchildren (a five-year-old and a two-year-old) for several years without problem or concern. She enjoys the children.

Mocha’s Current Home Environment

I live in a two-bedroom apartment. My daughter and grandchildren lived with me and with Mocha until December 2013. Now it?s just Mocha and me. She clearly misses the family and is delighted when they visit. Life for Mocha is more sedentary and less interesting than when the family was here.

Mocha’s Current Family:

As described above

Mocha’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Mocha’s favorite toy is a pull rope. She likes to play tug of war. She enjoys chasing and retrieving the rope when it’s thrown. I usually feed her dry dog food, but she relishes wet food. Unfortunately, wet food gives her diarrhea. Mocha is a fast runner and has a lot of energy, but my current living environment doesn?t allow her to run freely. She likes to be stroked on her tummy.

Cute Mocha Story:

Recently, my daughter and granddaughters visited for a few days. I’ve never seen Mocha so happy. One could literally see a smile on her face.

Why is Mocha Being Rehomed?

I am relocating to a new apartment complex at the end of August. I was unable to find an apartment that accepted dogs her size. In addition, her quality of life is diminished by living with a retired, rather sedentary person (me) and apart from family. She would thrive in an environment where she could run freely.

Mocha’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

An active family that has outdoor space in which she could roam freely or run around.
