Hi, My name is PeeWee!

Yellow Labrador Retriever For Adoption in

I have been adopted! Thanks, Pet Pros!

Read my testimonial here.

On Memorial day, my house flooded, and my owner lost everything. He has to move in with relatives, and the situation is not suitable for a big, energetic dog like me. He is hoping that he can find me a loving home with people who will cherish me as much as he does.

Here’s a little about me:
I am a PUREBRED yellow Labrador Retriever. I live in Austin, TX. I am very healthy, up to date on my shots, neutered and housebroken. I am only 3 years old. I am a big boy – I weigh 75 pounds. I am a very happy dog who is always eager to please. I get along just great with other dogs and cats. Children big enough that I won’t accidentally knock them over would be great, too!

I am looking for a very loving home where I can be an indoor dog. I need a good bit of exercise and love to swim, play fetch, romp, run and basically show how filled with joy I am.

I have an exceptional ability to welcome you home – whether you have been gone 5 minutes – or all day. ?I specialize in making you smile!

PeeWee’s Personality

PeeWee is a genuine sweetheart!

He goes with the flow. Always eager to please. Happy to be alive! Very good natured. The few times he has played with other dogs~~he loves it! Romping and running. PeeWee is strong and muscular! Not sure how he would be with a smaller dog. He might accidentally hurt them.

PeeWee’s Current Home Environment

Before the flood, PeeWee had the run of the house. The doors were made in such a way, he could easily open them with his nose. He could go inside and outside, at will.

PeeWee’s Current Family:

PeeWee’s family consists of PeeWee and Al. Al being the owner. Al’s girlfriend, Nan, comes for visits. PeeWee is always delighted to see Nan! PeeWee seems to really like women! We think he likes the gentleness.

PeeWee is very watchful. Protecting his little domain and his loved ones. He makes a good watch dog. Not afraid to bark if someone comes up or rings doorbell. Usually, his tail is still wagging!

With a little training, PeeWee could be a dream come true.

PeeWee’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Most of all, he enjoys walks! He gets excited, when the leash comes out. Ready to go! He also likes to chew on leather bones. Of course, any kind of treat! Cashew nuts are a favorite. He can catch them in his mouth! We try and keep him on a wheat free diet. He has put on a few extra pounds, due to lack of exercise. Al’s health has limited his walks.

PeeWee loves to have his belly rubbed!

Cute PeeWee Story:

During the flood, the water got up to about 4 feet deep…..within 5 minutes. PeeWee was smart enough to get on the bed. The mattress floated away from the box springs. There’s old PeeWee……never, ever been in water………using that mattress like a surf board. As it dipped, he would gain his balance by adjusting his stance. Bumping into the walls, furniture….you name it! PeeWee hung on!! He stayed til the water went down to about 2 inches. With some coaxing, he finally got off that mattress.

Why is PeeWee Being Rehomed?

On Memorial Day, Al’s home was flooded. Pretty much, everything was lost. Al will be moving to another location. Not appropriate for PeeWee. Sadly, Al has to give him up. PeeWee has been much loved~~knows nothing else. He has a lotta love to give and will be missed.

PeeWee’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

PeeWee’s perfect home would consist of a kind, loving family….however small, who would love and appreciate him. Treated like a loyal friend who only deserves the best! Kindness, consideration, patience, comfortable lodging, treats and EXERCISE! He is used to being inside when he wants to be. He has not been forced to live outside. Although we have been easy on him, he has not taken advantage.
